Hey guys, I'm looking at putting a lift on my 2014 jk unlimited rubicon. I feel like 2.5 is as tall as I'm gonna go so I dont have to have exhaust extensions but I cant decide how I'm gonna get there. Either a puck kit or a complete spring. AEV seems to believe that the stock rubicon shocks are some of the best so I'll be opting for the shock extensions instead of new shocks. Also I want to keep the stock rubicon wheels and try to not run a spacer. Ok with that shopping list out of the way what can y'all tell me.

Just curious why you would have to extend the exhaust my '13 rubi has a 4-5" skyjacker and no extension was necessary. I know there was a problem with the older ones needing an exhaust loop welded in but 2012s and up are all supposed to have em.

ROLL TIDE I'm not sure but everything I have read says that if you go 2.5" or more that your supposed to get the exhaust extensions. I don't know if it's a matter of actually needing them or needing them during articulation. Considering that I won't be doing any rock crawling I won't need anything but 2.5 inches. Do you have a pic of yours and do you like your skyjacker?

Our 2011 2dr has a procomp 2.5" it has a custom exhaust but we ran it factory for a long time. No problems. I think it's still factory all the way past the axle then just muffler behind axle and dual 4" out. Or slightly smaller not real sure cause we gave to Marty's and said do whatever you think is best.

I run the rubicon express 2.5 in with no exhaust spacer on 2012 unlimited. No problems yet. I have only done light wheeling. Have not flexed it out all the way with the track bar loose but was told by the guy who put it on that it will not touch the exhaust.

I have no rear sway bar and always run the front disconnected and haven't has anything on the exhaust hit yet.

What tire size do you plan to run? 33s is 2" lift, 35s = 2.5" lift, 37s = 4" lift.
AEV actually supplies tuned shocks with their 2.5" lift, but not with the 2" lift.

So you should be fine unless you're planning on something big

I think I'm gonna go with 35s cause I wanna start participating in the jeep badge of honor program with my ruby and 35s are about the smallest tire they suggest when the trail rating starts getting to a 5 or more.
