I've been looking at getting this recline kit, since the back seat is so uncomfortable. Anybody tried this with washers or made the brackets themselves? They're only $60, but washers or making my own would be cheaper... Thoughts? Here's a write up on someone else that did it. www.wranglerforum.com/f274/2011-detonator-yellow-unlimited-66227-2.htmlSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have been looking at those myself there are several different designs on ebay but I don't carry anyone in the back except for my 4yr old. If you do iy let me know how it turns out.

I did this today on my jku and it makes a huge difference I made my own pieces but now when you sit down its a lot more comfortable and my little girl will definitely enjoy it now and passengers as well

Nice! I really need to do this. My kids complain all the time... What did you make it with?

I meant to ask my son if he was uncomfortable and if this would help. I think he's tight with 2 car seats back there is his main complaint.

use a 18 mm socket 1/2 drive to remove the bolts from the seat they are pretty tight. and the factory bolts are plenty long enough so you dont have to put new bolts if you dont want to

So at 7/8" thick, how much recline did you get? And where did you pick up the 7/8" thick flat? I've used thinner but never noticed any that thick.

I would say maybe 2" or 2 1/2 recline it makes a huge difference. I had some 1" stock flat bar and I milled it down to 7/8
