OK if you want to have a rough day have your shift linkage come off the transmission when you’re in the drive thru. Stuck in Park and too close the wall to get my wheelchair out. So I ended up being stuck in park, stuck in the jeep and had this young girl looking out the window at me like I was crazy. got to love Tuesdays

Ya that really sucks. What did you do? I had a battery and alternator go out on me while I was paying for food at Taco Bell. We pushed it to the curb and replaced the battery.

Got Heath from the shop to come climb under the jeep and put it in gear so I could get it back to the dealership. $8.00 bushing will be here thursday

Sam did the same thing for me when our transfer case lineage broke. Nice thing there though is that I still had all gears....just not 4x4

OK that is just a bad design on jeep's part when a $8.00 bushing and 5min worth of work is what left you on the side of the road. The shift cable clips in from the bottom so when the bushing failed the cable slipped right off. If they would have flipped it and made the cable come on from the top when the bushing failed would have had a lot of slack in the shifter but would not have stranded me.
