I have literally never even owned a 4 wheel drive car. I rode with my friend in Texas, though. It's incredible fun, and I'm looking to get into it. Does anyone have suggestions on how to get started? My car was recently totaled, and I was looking to buy a used, low mileage JK with a moderate amount of modifications. What should I look for in a starting rig? And what would be some good resources to get me going?
Also is anyone going riding soon and would let me tag along?

Well I'll put it this way...my dad has a 2011 jk sport with 2.5 in lift, 33 in A/Ts, with steel bumpers and flares...will get u where u wanna go. Not the best on rocks because it doesn't have lockers. But it will still surprise you. Most people run a 4 in lift and 35s on JKs and that will do even better than ours. And if you want one that does good on rocks...go with a rubicon...can't go wrong with one of those. Those are the best and takes very little modification to conquer any trail. Whatever you get...first modification should be a winch. I won't hardly wheel without one.

Glad you found us. I have a jk unlimited Sahara and run a 2.5 lift with 33's. Good for all around not bad on gas and easy to climb in and out of every day. It's a daily driver.
