Very well could be. It has some cracked hoses and stuff which I have replaced a little. Would it be getting worse quickly if it was vacuum. It got real bad within a couple hours. Started as just hesitating a bit then completely loosing power.

Definitely could be something involving the brake booster/vacuum hose since you say it gets better when on the brakes. ??

Maybe but sometimes I don't hit the brakes if the jeep doesn't start rolling backwards. If it's just slightly steep I just feather the throttle a bit till it runs smooth an will sit there and idle fine. But when I hit the gas again it Starts sputtering again. Thts why I think it's a fuel pressure problem cause it idles fine at any angle. Just sputters when I give it a little gas. I will try to find a hill steep enough to make it sputter then try backing up it. If it backs up it fine. Then it's probly fuel pump. Thts what I read somewhere. Makes a little sense because the fuel pump has to work harder to pump gas vertical.
