My bad. It is solid front. I meant the axle joint on passenger front. Didn't know what else to call it. And ya I posted from my iPad sometimes the pictures turn out upside down. They are upside down until I click on them then they're right side up. I don't know exactly what's going on with this thing...probably operator error.

Ok we've been staring at the front of this jeep tryin to figure out the best way to put this winch on. At first I wanted to just weld it on there easiest and strongest way. But it's gonna be a lot of work and I'm debating just building a new bumper. I'm wanting to do tube bumpers front and rear and tie into some sort of hybrid exo cage/roll bar type thing and do tube fenders and quarters. I can't do everything right now but I figure as long as we re working on it we might as well do it right and build the front bumper how I want it. I'm thinking of somethin like this Just a simple tube bumper that can be tied into the fenders later on. And I want a little stinger but that can wait too. So does anybody have any ideas or can help me do it. I have never done bumpers so this is all new to me. And how much do y'all think this will cost. Like I said somethin simple at first then tieing it in later.

Forgot to post the current bumper. Its channel iron tack welded to the original bumper brackets. And partially to the grill. At first we thought that the mounts were cut short but after looking closer we're not sure. I don't think they're strong enough either way. I've got some pics of aftermarket brackets that we could replicate. The brackets on either side are what I'm looking at.

Well I haven't posted anything for a while, and since I'm bored in class, I figured I would give a little update on the XJ. I have bought two new 33x12.5x15 Kenda Klevers tht do real well. So now I have two old spares. When I took it out last time I found a fuel problem, It's acting like it's carburated...?When I go up a steep hill the motor cuts out and sputters for a second so I get on brakes and then it idles fine. Then when I try to go up again it sputters. I have to climb a couple feet at a time. I'm expecting fuel pump but I haven't had time to check anything. Hopefully I can get some real work done next week since I have fall break.
