I decided since we are starting a new forum, I'd share what I've done with my jeep since I got it as well as my future plans. But first, a little bit about my jeep. I got her after my 02 WJ was about to die after about 250,000 miles. She had a little over 100,000 miles and is a 97. As the title states, its name is the Great White Buffalo Before I did any modifications, I took it to HPO with CMSJA a couple months after I got it. The following weekend I installed a 2.5" Rough Country lift kit. It isn't the greatest, but I bought it when I was still didn't know much about jeeps and I didn't have much moolah. At HPO I suffered a little rocker damage so I got some Warn rocker guards (not sliders) second hand Next I got new front and rear bumpers and plastidipped my wheels black A few pics from Dewey's birthday run at HPO

I really think you could do that regear cheaper. I bought 4.56 gears for the M38 axles (dana 44s) and did the regear myself for 1/3 of that price. Especially since the axle will be out of the vehicle, it will be really easy to do yourself. We actually did a Ford 8.8 a few years ago for a guy at the CAFB. It's time consuming (takes a few hours), but it's not really that hard. Back in the day (like 10 years ago), the club used to do regear parties. If you provide pizza, I'll provide tools and expertise. It's fun, learning experience, and you save a lot of money. Also-- I think I have a D30 EZ locker. I ran into it not long ago when I was cleaning the garage. I'll try to find it before the next meeting. I'll give it to you cheap if you want it. I'll never use it... -RC

Yeah the regear cost was to take it to a gear shop...I really want to do the regear just don't have the tools/expertise to do it. I'm definitely down to buy beer/pizza for anybody willing to help.
Sounds good. I should have a job here in Stark by then. Detroit makes those, right?

Sorry bud I do want it. I'm trying to get down that total cost of the build. I've already brought it down almost a grand.

First, could somebody move this to the build section. Anyway, I have a problem. Ever since the last ride at the Lux, I've been having some death wobble. I thought it was because I was missing a sway bar link, so I ordered some Rubicon Express disconnects. That didn't work so I actually looked up underneath and immediately found this.

Dang you thinking welding it or new axle Definitely not getting a new axle over something like that. It'll be repaired. However, I may be getting an axle out of a 2.5L with 4.10 gearing if I decide I like the 4.10's after I install my 8.8 rear and 35" tires.
