Yeah I was talking to a guy today who saw it the first time I took it to HPO about a year ago (I think there are pictures from that trip on the first page of this thread), and he was talking about how far it's come. The fun thing is, it's not even close to done. By the end of summer she should be sitting on 35's with new wheels, hi line fenders, locked in front, and maybe tummy tucked.
If you'd told me a year ago I would be swapping an axle from a 98 Explorer into my 97 Wrangler, I wouldn't have believed you. I probably wouldn't have even believed you if you said I was swapping an axle from an 02 Wrangler in there, but I've done both in the last two weekends thanks to some really great help. I've learned a whole lot too.

I've learned a whole lot too. Awesome, that's what it's about! So much better than just writing a check. Did Ben put a welding hood on ya?

I do wanna try my hand at it sometime though. Chris, I meant to ask you earlier. You think you could help me go through my winch and figure out what's going on? I think it's just a solenoid.

Sure, I just replaced both in mine. After last Monday, it's definitely working right.

The truck that was delivering the shop got buried to the axles. New F350 4wd dually and 40' trailer with boom crane. Pulled with a tractor but wasn't moving it. Ended up anchoring to a tree an winched it out about 200'.

Well I got some spacers thanks to Dale. Drove to columbus and back to Flowood then finally put them on. Went ahead and put loctite on the threads and used the air impact to tighten them down. Don't think those suckers are going anywhere.
The first ride just around the block was a little rough but I figured everything just needed to settle in. On my way to my local Autozone to get rid of all the old oil used during the swap, I got some serious death wobble. Checked when I got to Autozone to see if I could see anything wrong. Everything was fine, so I assume it just needs an alignment. I only got DW two more times on the way to Starkville, and none after the first 25 miles. I still probly need an alignment and during all that shaking, my steering stabilizer came unbolted at the top. So I'll need to find a new bolt for the top and probly a lock washer.
Other than that, I was really happy with how the jeep rode. The downside of changing gear ratio before getting bigger tires, is I lost a lot of top end speed. I stayed around 60 mph because any higher, and it absolutely guzzled gas like a high schooler who pulled a hey mister to get some beer.

I did my 125,000 tune up yesterday. She feels a lot more responsive now. You guys should check out the oil prices at your local Walmart because they were about $10 cheaper than Autozone on 5 quarts of Mobil 1. It also looks like my serpentine belt is in need of replacement, so that looks like it's next on the list.

Well the factory battery on my 1997 Jeep Wrangler finally quit chugging yesterday as I was trying to head to class (of course), and I went and picked up an AGM battery from Autozone for $150. Starts like a dream now. Dale, thanks for the lead on the Gates belts. I replaced my serpentine belt this past weekend with one of them. For some reason, the belt which was on there was a groove too small. Got my birthday coming up in about a month and hopefully I'll be receiving some Metalcloaks or wheels. I spent part of my "spring break" laying this tile in my momma's kitchen so I like my chances.

I still can't get over a original 14 year old battery! Nope! 17! My dad didn't believe me when I told him last week that I thought it had the original battery and it was about to go. Confirmed it when I took it out yesterday.
